This reminds me of one of those old botanical illustrations found in science books because the detail is amazing. I took a look at your portfolio and was surprised to find that there weren't more florals, this one gave me the impression that you were an old hand at this sort of photography. I think you should explore this softer side more often. In addition to the detail and clever lighting, the composition/crop is what makes this so successful in my estimation. Nothing important is missing, there is just a bit of air all around the amaryllis and that wonderful strong green stem is both an anchor and a bright spot of color to give the image vibrancy. Green and red - I think this would make a terrific Christmas card. I grew a red amaryllis on my window sill once but it grew so fast and got so tall it fell over. I like this a lot!

Your PS reducing is so well done, that it became 1 with the original.It is excellently linked with the story as well_You managed to reveal the past and bring to life peace of it's atmosphere...Very initiating for eye and imagination

i am studying now in sociology the impact of the industrial revolution as it pertains to revolution of a people as a whole..as far as unions..racism..and enclaves often created by these places closing up shop and going elsewhere..

Splendid composition with great depth and lovely warm tones. I like the colors simmetry between the sky and the lake but, most of all, the one between the woods on the left and the red leaves in the foreground. Excellent lighting too. Congrats!

feels like one of those moments i get bored out of my skull and the mind wonders off staring at nothing in particular and suddenly it dawns that what i'm looking at has a great beauty and i wish i had my camera - really nice moment that's sent me off looking for my camera..

Perfect landscape. Wish I had fall again with the 40 below outside.
I still remember "When good pets go bad." Well, good ol'Patch's no different. (well, he's usually a nice, mellow cat but he can have prety bad days, too...)He's one of my professors' cat.
