Thomas,
A really nice shot, I do think the model's right eye is a bit out of focus. Also the right part of the nose is a bit overexposed which causes a loss of detail there.

Becky,

I agree with Stefan on this one, you might get a crop of the insect, it would then seem ( I think) that the bug is sitting on a yellow wavy sea.

If you look well to my butterfly series you will find that it is all the same butterfly... just used at different angles etc. Thank you for your comment, I will certainly be experimenting more.

Banchie,
Lovely shot. Very nice composition. IMHO it would be nice if the cat was also looking in the camera. Also the top left part is overexposed, which causes a bit of glare.

Becky,
A very nice shot. It does seem a bit unnatural but as Kim already stated that makes it a great poster. You really have to watch twice before you can make up your mind up on what is 'wrong' with it (I can't find anything wrong with it, but still, this shot has to be looked at at least twice... ;-) ).

Thnx for your comments on my shot as well, I've immediately started shooting some more.

Spencer,
Thanks for your comment on my 'Never fly away again' *series* :-). I immediatly tried some new shots and see the improvement myself. I hope you like it too. As always, experimenting, like yourself, is what we should do to keep our mind and fingers sharp...
I like your shot here, because it is very different from most things you usually see. Maybe next time you can let someone open the door and see if that adds even more to this shot?

I hope I am not stating the obvious... something might have gone wrong...? :-)

Welcome to UseFilm.com though, Erin.

Lukasz,
This is a nice shot. I really like the colours though they might be a bit brighter (maybe do some levels/curves in PS) and the image lacks some sharpness (maybe from scanning).

Lucas,
Indeed very nice lines. I do think the papers on the desk are a bit overexposed, try looking at the histogram of this image and notice that there are parts way too much to the right.

What did I deserve this rating for? With no explanation?

Anyone care to explain?

Carl,
I am not really sure if John has completely lost his mind (?), as you probably know this is just a piece of sky. I've also taken lots of pieces of sky just to put in a folder I appropiately call "sky". I always look back to this folder when I don't like the sky on a particular background and would like to change it with a sky in my folder.

But hey... that's just what I do. :-) Good luck with experimentating, it's always worth it in the long run.

Tanja,
I can't really explain it but it seems to me it is a composition done in PS. Why? Because the door is really sharp and the bottom part is really fuzzy. This shouldn't be the caze because they are in the same plane. Or am I just completely wrong?

Thomas, this shot requires great skill and expertise. You did a wonderful job. Is the shutter speed really just 1/200 sec? Shouldn't it be more in the 1/2000 sec. range?

Great colours in this shot. I like the insect there, it makes the shot even more interesting. Where did you shoot it anyway...? De Veluwe?

Kalle,
A funny shot for a boring evening. ;-) Why not let the eyes speak more by opening them. You could also make a compostion shot with all different expressions next to each other.
Just a thought,

Alex,
Very funny shot. However it misses something, maybe something dynamic. Maybe you can experiment a bit with the wind filter in PS.

Good luck, Roderik
