I need to see more details I think it lask more on focus (which can be achieved better with close up lenses) but it was a good try and this one is original most of the things I see with flowers are bees, insects and butterflies, Best Regards

This is a very good compostion , hight quality image with good details , the only comment is that bar in down right is a bit distracting easy to colon it by PS , Still ii's a very good image .

Rich,
I agree with Aaron, the image needs to be sharp with the motion ogf the bat being the only blurry part. One thing I noticed is in your information above you indcated tha you shot this at 300mm at 1/30sec. To hand hold this shot and still capture notion you would need a shutter speed around 1/300. The general rule is 1/focal lenght for min shutter speed.

I like the idea of what you are trying to do but for me, it doesn't work. The eye needs some portion of the subject to lock onto that is sharp. Outside of that, if the eye can't lock onto anything, it seems just like a blurry photo. I'm not trying to sound harsh, just honest.
