What a great atmosphere you've caught here... Often the problem with tungsten lighting with digital is that it tends to melt everything but you seem to have avoided this... Good !? (and don't say you've used the flash because i don't like them

I think this is a very good portrait, but would benefit from burning the hotspots on the side of his nose and in the corner of his forehead. Other than that, I think the lighting is very good both in terms of direction and intensity. The vignetting works here.

I downloaded the image to try and burn those hotspots, but I was only able to do it reasonable well in B&W mode. See what you think.

I think that the compo could be a little better, the person on the right is cut off as well as the top of the right window. Interesting concept.

This picture obviously has potential, but it ends up being a bit "messy". Maybe som PS-work to tone it down a bit would have helped.

I really like this, Alan - a powerful image! The lighting is definitely harsh here, with extremes in your subject's face, but I think it's very effective for this shot - the deep shadow on his face fits his sad expression, while the shaft of light across his face offers a deeper glimpse into his thoughts... I love the shadow behind him! The only thing I find a little distracting is the strip of light on the wall at far right. Great shot!

awsome, everything is smashing good,

if you could, bounce some light into the left side of the body, it needs some detail there, not alot, but some.

Colour is very nice,

While I like all the areas in the rating section.. the overall is lower because the DOF is not there.. or my monitor is having problems
