Hi Peter, this would be my favourite of this triptych, very well composed, and I like the saturation of the colours. I still feel a bit ambiguous about the black background, though. I think extending the texture of the table (obscuring it a bit by lighting and DOF) would balance the shot a bit more.

Just a thought: what would happen if you'd inserted an object with a complementary colour, something like a red transparent wrapper of a sweet (partially) into the bottle? It might create a very interesting play of transparent light and reflection....

Cheers,

Hugo

I do not understand as never this wonderful photo has 4 like rating. The definition is simply wonderful, the composition too, and the glares are a pleasure for the eye. Bravo Peter

Hi Peter, Very good composition, and the lighting is superb. Beautiful refraction on the stone surface. I find the background a bit too black, a subtle gradient would probably be less distracting. You've captured the textures and the material excellently, my compliments!

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks for your very valuable comment, Hugo! Me too, I do prefere the smoother one (Chesnut photos). This latter was only an experiment: how far can I go with PS.
