Steve, your comment makes me smile. It is a nature shot, what are you to do? Ask the little black snake to move his head a little to the left and look right into the camera...on three smile. It is a wonderful capture and very brave of you to approach him for the enjoyment of others.

this racoon is not in a cage... the fence you see in the background in the upper left corner is the perimeter fence around my apartment complex... from me to the racoon was only about 10 feet and no barrier between us.

Nice shot. From the top left part of the photo it seems that the Coon was in a cage. In that case u needn't be afraid of a bite or getting rabies. Cheers

Real nice turtle shot. I like the fact you caught him before he fell back.

Steve, a really nice shot. A very cute expression on its face, and very nicely focussed (especially the eyes). If his ear had not touched the frame of the photo, it would have improved the photo somewhat (IMHO). Nonetheless, excellent...

Great shot of the racoon. What I like about this is the great detail in the eyes. Great job Steve.

Steve, really nice macro, dispite not having the "perfect" lens. You framed it very well, and the detail and focus came out nicely, even though you used a shallow depth (F/4).

Is this the log thats in the middle somewhere from the storms?

Great shot!
Is the water level down now so the other docks are open?

Fantastic shot Steve! I love the manatee in the background. Blue Springs has alot right now. My mom goes there everyweek! It's one of my favorite places to hang out when I'm in Florida!

Merry Christmas to you & your family Steve!

Steve!
Cool action shot. I think you did a great job of capturing the moment, and "feel" of the performance. I would crop a bit off of the top, though.

Excellent photo, I would like to see just enough background to put the photo into perspective as to the environment in which it was taken. Very sharp, good work. Del.

You managed to keep the white from overwhelming the shot -- I think the contrast of the dark trees in the background help with that. You were able to get some details (creases, shadows and contrast between the white uniforms and flag holders) that make the uniforms visually interesting. I like it.

thank you all for your comments and recommendations. just some technical info i'd like to share on the particulars of this photograph. i took these picture from the 23rd floor of the Adam's Mark hotel, so i was nearly eye level with these aircraft as they came by at over 400 miles per hour. seems like everytime they came by for their low/slow "photo op" passes i was busy changing lenses or something else, so i had to time the high speed passes. thank you all again for your comments, they are benficial as i strive to become a better photographer.

Nice photo! The kind of photo I used to try for (with varying success). I should go to some airshows again, I never tire of trying to line up the perfect panning shot. I don't know if you used autofocus or not, but I've always found that manual focus works better, and 1/1000 or even 1/500 would have been fast enough, which would give you greater depth of field.

I like the idea of your shot, and the composition is great. I only wish your exposure was just a hair brighter, so we would be able to see the expression on the face of the soldier to the left.
