Derek, it's funny that you say that; many people when they see me never connect me to this type of work. To quote them, "... But you look so ... 'normal'!" Yes! That is what they say to me; but you are right. This is a very honest me, and it is a little sad, but it never takes over. I'm really quite the happy gal.

What a fantastic portfolio. It feels completely honest, it communicates a real sense of who you are (or at least the image you want to convey). It feels a little sad, but very creative and inspired. I hope that you are doing well. U rock. :-)

Just watched a Steiglitz dvd, about his life. Of course his relationship with with O'keefe is ledgendary. There were a few things I did not know.
One-the nudes Steiglitz did of Georgia were a bit scandelous at the time and shed a sexual conitation on her work that she did not intend. Sometimes a flower is just a flower.
In this case your flower has a trancendant power to be many things to many viewers. The sexual and sensual forms are but 2 interpretationns I find in it. Mapelthorpe was another who photographed flowers. O'keefe actually changed to painting buildinngs and the dessert as a move to alter the perseptions people where getting of her work. The landscapes, oddly seem even more sensual. Worhal is famous for 15 minitues of fame to everyone. Paris Hilton- for being famous and now like Pamela Anderson, she has added being more famous for having sex on video. Sorry I'm rambling, nice flower photo.

Here is a sugestion. See image attached. I like the image but have a feeling the eye is to sharp. So i motioned blured the eye some more and added grain. The illusion of a photographic techinque seems more real and I'm not as distracted by it now. i also love the subtle color, and eyebrow movement.
