I love this Melanie! Wonderful happy feeling. Great technique. I'll have to try this with my 1.8. How far away was the tree from your cute subject?

Simple and SWEET! Love the tones and horizontal crop and her smile seems so real.

Thanks Melanie, I convert to LAB mode, select the 'lightness' channel, Convert to greyscale mode then convert back to RGB color then adjust levels. Of course I have an action that does all that for me!

Thank you!! It was near the end of the session when the baby dropped off to sleep just for a few moments...

Wow Melanie, fantastic make up and lighting here...your images were always great but now with the 30D they really sing. Love this.

Thanks, the blurring was done in camera but I did add a vignette to darken the edges in PP

There is a lot going on here. A busy, but well organized composition. I like the harmony of colours and shapes. I think the numbers really detract from the overall image and demand a lot of attention...wonder about cloning them out?

Nice job with the slow exposure. I like the hint of fall in the reflections.

Yes it was you! Finally some time to 'play' so I thought I'd hang out at Usefilm and noticed your critique from a while back. I appreciate all your comments.

gorgeous light and expression. What really makes this I think is the slight tilt/angle. Lovely portrait.

Thanks Robert...yes I'm the same as you. Mainly photograph people as you probably can tell by the majority of my posts here. But once in a while it's fun to shoot nature just for fun! Actually I was there staking out a location for a session this afternoon....so it was still sort of work related.
