I like it better as a purple tree and black/grey path.
Interesting color reversal here. Keep playing around and having fun.

Whoa! What's goin' on here? I get the impression that this was a good photo - why mess it up with digital voodoo?

I like the juxtaposition of the red with the b/w image as a whole -- I think the tone of the picture is nice as it is. Interesting way to "show-off" the aspens.
I also wanted to answer your question about "City Dawn" WTC shot -- I took it in April of 2000 -- about a year and half before the tragedy...

Yes, I know that. The Morrison-Knutsen Nature Center is along the Boise River, just across Southcenter Blvd a few blocks from the Green Belt Trail.

Erin,
Is this the MK Nature Center? Looks like it is - I was just there a few months ago and took some picks. Nice place.

Is there a way to have a career in doing photography. I have thought about making t-shirts or something of my state i live in, and sell them, but I don't know much about the photography field. I just know to just point and shoot. I am basically teaching myself, and looking at other member's pictures for ideas, and just reading about what to do, how to do, when do to it, and what to use. I just like to have fun taking the picture, thats my main focus, is the fun part.

Same here about the money Erin. Right now it is taking me forever to save up for either a new lense or a new body for one of my old cameras. I'm stuck with a small aperature right now that hampers some of the creativity I want to work toward.

cool. It is nice to know that there is Christians in this site. I would like to know who else is Christian. I would like to get better equipment for taking pictures, but it takes money, and i sure don't have a lot of it. Someday, God willing, it can happen.

Yes, there are Christian's on this website, me being one. The sunset is very cool and the composition is good. You will find that that is a good thing to learn and then when you are able to get better equipment you can work on the grain in the photo.

The lighting is a bit harsh, grass overexposed and the white sky adds nothing to the photo. Maybe just a bit more of the boardwalk would add more interest.

I agree. It looks like it was done on the computer so it can be taken away if the original is still saved. It is distracting since its such a big portion right in the middle. I would like to see it in focus.

I like this picture from composition point of view. Nice framing using the trees/bushes on either side of the bridge. What is going on with the trees in the background (above the bridge)? It seems unnatural for the background to go so out of focus when you have great DOF from the foreground to the bridge. Did you blur that digitally? Kind of distracting. I'd rather see the foreground out of focus and the background brought in clear.

I think the bridge looks neat but would also try moving in front of the pole and trying to keep this angle as much as possible, maybe using a more wide angle lens.
