It can be hard to get unique, nice photos in Vegas. Good work!

A very interesting composition. I haven't seen one like it before. Great way to emphasize and focus on the leg and arm. I think I would like a version without a toilet in the foreground, my only critique. Good job.

Excellent star trail photo...one of the better I've seen. Good job!

What a fantastic shot! Really great capture, I can imagine being there. This takes me back to a few sunsets in Huntington Beach during storms. Good work!

Love the angle on this shot. Regarding the difference in face between digital/slide: I often have trouble pulling out all the shadow detail when scanning my slides. Perhaps you should try having this one drum scanned?

Any way, great work!

Never seen another eagle shot quite like this one. Really good job!

Excellent shot. Great tones, great composition/isolation. I kind of wish the light had been more even across the owl's face, but then that probably wasn't under your control at the moment. Good work!

Beautiful shot of a beautiful animal. Velvia rendered the scene wonderfully. Great work!

Beautiful portrait. Love the lighting on the right side, and how her arm frames it.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned your choice of film. If it was Kodak Max 800 that probably has a lot to do with the dull, poor color. Try Kodak Gold 100, Portra 400UC or, even better, a slide film like Fuji Astia 100F or Provia 100F.

Excellent composition and color. Curious...why did Provia have so much grain? Or is this a crop of a small portion of the frame?

A stunning image. You definetly deserved the editor's choice award. Perfect composition, lighting, and just the right softness (shutter speed) for the water. Almost looks like a painting. Well done!

A very dramatic capture that conveys the power of storms. Just curious, did you do any PS work on this? The sky color looks great, but it does seem unnatural. Great work!

Really great pier shot. Good color and angle. An image that really makes the viewer wish he/she was there. You captured the feeling of looking out over the beach/pier on a night like that well.

Just a tad off being level though. My only complaint.

Another great pier shot...BUT, I really wish it was level! To me that takes away from an otherwise great photo.

The lens reflection does add to this photo, but I wish it had been a controled factor, i.e. not accidental lens flare (which reduces contrast/color across the rest of the image), but a filter effect.

Still, this is a great shot of HB pier. I like the reflection off the water, and how the pier is abstracted to black/shadow. Makes me wish I was there...hmmm, time for lunch at Wahoo's! ;-)

Good job.

Again, the overall score I gave was pulled down (6) :-/

(Just frustrates me because I don't think people should give low scores without giving some good suggestions.)

This is a very good snapshot. I like the color and the fog. I wish it had come off a bit sharper, but that can be difficult with night/fog shots. Nice work.

BTW, someone had given this a poor overall rating before me, so it pulled mine down. I had given you a six.

I think this is a shot with a lot of potential. It does appear underexposed. This wouldn't have been autofocus but autoexposure. It probably gave too much weight to the sky (which is brighter than neutral gray) and underexposed. You kind of have to get a feel for when your camera is going to do this so you can compensate or bracket, or if your camera has it use a spot or partial meter and figure the exposure yourself.

ANY WAY...the composition is good and the sky was certainly interesting. I think this would have had more impact shot on a contrasty slide film like Velvia. Properly exposed, the flag still would have gone black (emphasizing shape) because of how contrasty Velvia is, yet the sky would have come out very rich and saturated (emphasizing color).

This came out pretty good as is, and I think you did a good job.

This is a really interesting pose. It seems so hectic and yet when viewing the cat clearly comes to front as the focus point of the image. The cat's look and pose is awesome. It looks like he/she is taking over your desk, and not afraid to admit it! Good job!
