Yes you are right, the older ice has less oxygen trapped in it and tends to be darker. Also tiny grains of glacial flour and marine particles can effect the way light gets absorbed and reflected back. Thanks for your comment. Debra

Beautiful! These flowers seem to give off the light as well as receive it. Regards, Debra

Very nice capture. The light at the top gives this image all the warmth to go with the cool colors. Good timing. Debra

Wonderful capture of the patterns in the soap. Its hard to get a sense of the size even with the brush, and that makes it even more interesting. Nicely done. Debra

This goes to my favorites. You have captured a very moody and emotional image. The immense stature of the wall makes one feel small if not insignificant as the observer. The hint of light on the far statue and trees is wonderfully understated and the bright light implies something godly. Must be a BIP... Best regards, Debra

For me this could be a still from a Spielberg movie... it has a sci-fi feel to it. Great choice to angle the image and include the metal piece in the foreground. Love it. Debra

Excellent composition. I am very interested to know the names of the colors of camels. I am a horse trainer and would like to know if it is similar to the way we name horse colors. Do you know? Debra

Hi Joe: I have increased the sat. on the rocks a little. The blues are so strong already, I have actually tried to desaturate in parts because I think it doesnt look natural. However, the ice is really that blue as I explain the cause of this in my comment to Ilir. Thank you very much. Debra

Thanks Ilir: The blue color is the caused by the filtration of the longer (red) light waves through the ice. Only the deep blues escape. Debra

Hi JP: The objects in the photo are each very interesting, but as a composition I find it does not hold my eye. Perhaps if you had a wider view or just focus on the cross and candles it would hold the attention better. I think the technique and lighting are terrific. Regards, Debra
