Simple composition and as you say, interesting light. Good exposure on the snow which is notoriously difficult, but a 'tog' of your calibre should not be worried by the difficult metering.

My favourite of the 'On White' series. Simple minimalistic composition that uses the blank spaces so creatively. Number 3 is similar, but 1 & 2 appear as though they should come from a different series.

Great colours and composition. Interesting post taking processing that helps create a piece of art. I like the use of DOF and the selective focusing that makes the closest and furthest peg out of focus but the middle peg in focus, and so, becoming the subject.

Thanks Avi. The frame is just the edge of the 120 slide film. Nothing special!!

Suits the square well. A nice study of the texture of the background and an interesting arrangement of the polaroids.

Fantastic rich colours both of which look natural. This makes an colourful piece of art as presented here.

Romantic and full of atmosphere.

Beautiful pose. Great control of the exposure.

Nice abstract and a good B&W conversion. I like the point of focus being the reflection towards the back of the photograph. Jaunty angle works for me. Welcome to UF Krishnendu :-)

I'm glad you returned from your holidays well.

Film like quality is good. The narrow DOF works for me, as does the wall forming a frame on its own. Nice simple toning.

I like these but would prefer to see them as 2 individual photos even though they work well together. Best regards.

Wow Avi. This is damn near perfect and doesn't need any changes at all in my opinion. The colour is not only important, it is vital. I think B&W may be good, but would lack context of the Masaai. I love the textures of the inside of the hut hiding in the shadows. Low POV is inspired choice. Be happy; very happy with this.

Great photo with an interesting composition. The empty space gives the birds room to fly into. I'm not a fan of the framing but if I was buying this I would be choosing my own frame anyway. Nicely done Harry. Agree with the award nomination.

Interesting POV. A change from the square on ones we normally see.

Its already been said. I saw this had been nominated and I am inagreement. Excellent but simple compo and great mono. Love the minimal feel. Bravo.

A nice floral. A really nice dof to show the main flower, but what I like about this is the background, which is an image in its own right.

Great placement of the bird and lamp. Love the drama in the sky and the peeling photo effects you have applied.

I love the tones and contrast you are able to pull out of HP5+. Grain is good. A confident and beautiful child.

If I went to Tanzania and only came back with this photo then I would be really happy.

Really good as is...but a letterbox crop of the bottom half (just above the closer of the distant hills) would work good too.

All the best to you Avi.

Hi Harry.

I've been using an Epson 4490 for about 2 years. Its a flatbed but has film carriers. I think you can get this scanner for about E100-150. The bundled software is rubbish in my opinion so bought Vuescan which is excellent. Like a RAW program for scanners!!. On the whole I carry out minimal Photoshopping although I do sometimes convert to B&W if I think it looks better. Most scans are now @ 2400dpi (35mm & 120) . Whilst its not perfect and nothing like a drum scanner, for minimum cost I like it.

All the best.

Nice composition and great detail in the silhouette shape. Its a good looking tree (if trees could be described as good looking!!). I'm not fond of the yellow tint, but thats a personal taste.

Be well Rasna.
