Thanks Mike. It,s sort of a water park, concert venue and marina situated on Lake Ontario in Toronto Canada. The chinese Lantern Festival was held there last summer/fall as a one time event. It was very colorful and interesting. As far as the shots went I was very surprised with how well they turned out. I forgot my tripod so it was a small miracle that could hold still long enough to get them.

Thanks Paul. I blew the background out to lighten up the forefront as it is the more interesting subject. The day I shot this I did not have my lights with me and the food on the counter was to make the shot more interesting. She wanted the background (mostly cropped out) as the focal point and as you say it was too brightly lit by the sun for the foreground to be well lit. I should have reshot the scene with the food as the subject, maybe with my camera flash. Oh, well hind sight is 20/20. I do appreciate your comment and am working on my lighting issues.

Thanks for your positive comment Michele. In the winter I had the advantage of going out on the ice to shoot so I could work on the right angle for the shot. The high wind helped pull the kite down making it easier. I have some summer ones where they came close to shore so I managed to get the whole shot then too. Timing is everything I always say.

Yes, I was just going to add a touch of blue in color balance. However the harder I hit it, the more I liked it.
Thanks for the positive feedback.

Thanks, it is one of my favorites. I took it last winter because of the bands of colour and the rawness of the open water.
I checked out your photos and they are fantastic. I hope I can get to your level at some point.
Thanks again for the kind words.

Thank you very much for the input. I see what you mean and will take your advice. I appreciate all the advice I get as I am fairly new with photography. Cropping being one of my weak points.

Thanks John
