Ha ha... Um, about 150 but I got a ton of great shots so the ration of successful images was pretty high - heehee.

Thanks so much for your very kind words, Don. I did intend for this particular shot to have an ethereal, soft feeling to it but I periodically wish I had taken another shot with the same composition but sharper...just to have the option. Regardless, thanks again for taking the time to leave me your thoughts.

I feel the same way most of the time - although it depends on what I'm shooting... Anyway, thanks for the feedback and I'm coming along with the selection of which pics I'll be posting so check back often. I've already posted three. :)

Oh, absolutely, Kim.
If I shoot 500+ shots and get ONE I'm proud of, then I feel I won.

Thanks so much for your comment, Mehul. I have the original shot in my gallery here but all I did in PS for this image was to tint it blue... So instead of it being a creamy white flower and green leaves, it's this cool blue... Sorry, I took so long to respond to your comment but I really do appreciate it.

Thank you for your thoughtful critique, Ahmed. That was the background I had to work with... I chose not to pick up the dead butterfly and move it elsewhere or use something else as a backdrop but I do get your point. Thanks for sharing...

Thank you very much for your kind comment, Paul. I've been incredibly neglectful of late when it comes to posting on UF but I just got back from a photography workshop in Tobermory, Ontario and got some amazing shots so I'll be posting as soon as I can go through the thousand or so shots I took and pick the best ones...

Kim,
I loved the against light take and this reverberated the colors but did not like the back drop/background which has certainly toned down the photo.

Warm regards!
Ahmed

This is a terrific, lovely composition, Kim. I wish there were a little more definition in the center of the flower, and the shot needs no frame. At least remove the white border, which is a bit overpowering.
Having nothing to do with that, but to show how nicely the photo could be altered give an entirely different look, I mocked up an example (below) for which I used a multiply filter. I hope you like it.
Very nice work.
