I agree with Paolo-this is a good pic. You might want to crop a little off the right side, though. That way you'll get the rule of thirds working for you and the left-right diagonal formed by the road will lead the viewer's eye right to the tree. Good luck!

Absolutely spectacular! Great tone, great composition, great geometry, great everything! It looks like something Ansel Adams could have done, and he would have been proud of it if he had. Wonderful job, Maciek

Michelle, either version is good, but in this case your color version is the better of the two. Your b&w version is overly harsh, and you've lost important shadow detail in the conversion; the leaves behind the angel and the palm tree at the lower right of the image are both nearly invisible. This is fine, if that is the effect you're aiming for, but you've also lost the warm glow of the weathered stone, which gives the angel its patina of age. The b&w version looks like it could have put in the cemetery last week; you color version looks as though it has been standing there for quite a while. Again, this is not to bash your b&w version; it is very good and, to me, looks like something William Klein would do, but put head to head, your color version is the better of the two, I think.

That is so beautiful, and I'm not just saying that because it is cold and nasty and snowing here at the moment.

A great shot, Nick; the light and dark of the water make it look almost metallic in the light.

I like this photo, Andre; it's a good composition and you use the black & white to great effect. My apologies if I am not being as effusive as your other reviewers, but in reading their comments I have a sneaking suspicion that they are more interested in the subject matter than in the photo itself. ;)

Pasa, this is a great shot. I suppose Kiarang is right, there could have been more detail in the background, but I think the dense black works to your advantage here. The golden light reminded me of the Oz stories and Dorothy following the yellow brick road, and without the background the eye naturally concentrates on the boy and the road he has to travel. I think this is very well done, and like Kiarang, I like that nimbus of light around the boy's head and shoulders.

Great angle; gives the impression of an unbearable weight pushing down on the viewer, and the heavy darks add to that impression.
