Hi Garold, nice nature shot. I like the use of your long exposure time and I think you have taken a good foto of a milky waterfall. Nice work.

Garold, I am most impressed by the negative space here. The slight blue hue gives this shot a mood that is perfect for the mist. The stark contrast works in this composition very nicely!

Casey i am glad you like this one and i wish i could have gotten her sharper but that is the beauty of photography, you always get to go and try again to improve and the journey is somehow better than actual result it seems.
My warm regards,
Garold

Thank you Casey and i am sorry that I have been so long in replying. I wanted the photo to feel vintage or at least inspire some nostalgia so I do appreciate your feedback.

I really like this picture it speaks of another era, you can almost feel its history and the use of black and white just adds to its effect, great capture !!! :)

Coming from you Dirk, that is high praise indeed. I appreciate you looking and critiquing one of my shots. I have great admiration for your use of only film and am glad that i keep and still use my first camera, x370 Minolta its 23 years old.
My Regards,

Thank you Brigitte it was a unplanned catch. I had actually laid down my tripod and was moving down the rocks to look at a flower that was between the rocks. So I had to lie down and get as steady as possible. The mink heard the sound and actually started coming towards me. I kept shooting until he got scared and ran away.
My regards,
Garold

What a beautiful animal, Garold! Great capture! What a shame that so many of these are hunted just for their fur. I don't think I've ever seen one in the wild before... thanks for taking these photos. Best wishes, Brigitte

Very nice shot.
Very good about.
Wonderful toning to add to the nostalgic feel.
The only thing that distract is that the license plates appear to be current.

Thank you Glinda. I wish i could take credit for knowing how the flash effect would affect this shot but sadly enough it was set to auto. Heck when i first saw the fire no one was on the scene except the man in the shot "Resigned" but my batteries were dead had to run up to a store and grab a pack, by the time i got back the firemen had already started working. Grabbed the camera and started shooting. I am happy that you liked the shot though and appreciate your looking through my portfolio.
Regards,
Garold

Thank you so much Nessa, and i agree the effect is a little much but i did not like the shot and tried to expand upon its weakness (the focus) by smudging the background. I value any input on my photos to help me improve.

Great idea Txules. I took this shot while driving and actually liked the idea if not the outcome. I have tried a different approach with my photo "Prohibited" not sure if you saw it. Thank you for the honest critique i value all your input.

Garold, first of all, forgive my poor English. what i like in this is image is the mood, the well balanced lights and shadows and the overall composition but i'd crop 1/3 (just above the poles) at the top for a panorama format though; not sure about the amount of blurry, to me it's too much: what definitely i do not like are the highlights. Anyway a good attempt; thanks again for your comments....txules

That’s a great idea Sam a panorama shot. And of course your right i was bothered by the fact that the deck and bushes were detracting from my focal point and baring a bunch of cloning I didn’t know what to do I'll work on it.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words he was a dear and trusted friend.

Thank you for everything my friend,
Garold

Good shot Garold,

The only thing that I might do is Crop off the top and present this in Pano format. The deck, fence and the bush do nothing for the shot and seem to be taking away from your subjects.

I am really sorry for your loss my friend.

my Best Regards

She is so cute ..she looks like a little flower fairy ..like the effect of the b/drop.. although myself i would have kept it normal and enhanced the colours..lovely picture though.. nessa
