The warm light on these lilies changes their hue completely, Julie. Alas, the little blossoms only last about a week and start to wilt. At least we humans are a little more durable. Maybe its because it takes longer to truly see a person for who they are. Extra hugs for a while, as I will be away from the internet for a short time. Anson

Anson, my father's people (the Simmons' clan) were all centered in North Carolina. Maybe a few wandered off to Alabama. Thanks for your words about the CJ in BW. The BW version actually causes some people to gasp!? I had to make prints for all my daughters' inlaws and friends.

Glad you are seeing the colors that I am, Marian. I try to keep my monitor calibrated, but sometimes forget to check it. Hugs from Florida. Anson

Good to have you back in the photography business, Andy, and welcome to UF. Thanks for the nice words on the flower. I also like your BW version of CJ, a very good demonstration of how BW can elicit a response from a viewer that color cannot, under the right circumstances of course. I too am a retired professor, chemistry. I married a Simmons, but her family came from Sand Mountain AL. Regards, and hope to hear and see more from you. Anson

Blue or purple flowers seem to have the potential for 3 dimensional appearances that other colors don't seem to have, at least for me Andre. Shot just before heavy rain storm. I really like your "Blue Flag" image, Andre. Reminds me of my wild and wooly days in sports car racing, club, SCCA. Thanks for stopping by. Anson

A beautiful job on this macro Anson!
The composition is excellent with a simple, dark background that makes the main flower pop out of the image.

Ah, our resident botanist steps forward and makes the identification, Giuseppe. I was hoping you would come out of the forest and help me name this flower, and you did. That will allow me some needed sleep tonight, not having to rack my fevered brain. I shot this minutes before a major hail storm came through this afternoon and damaged this small beauty, but I think she will survive. So good to hear from my old friend, and always with a note of encouragement. Thanks ever so much, but this little plumbago has a special color I always enjoy shooting. Cheers! Anson

Oh I was going to ask you what it was :(
I am sorry to hear about the rain, it is awful here 97 today and I have to go into the city for dinner with clients :(
Yes, I completely know what you're saying. It is the hardest thing I deal with everyday, being far away from her. She is my best friend and will always be. I can't wait until she comes :)
Big hug my dear friend.

This little bush of purple flowers is struggling to survive in the face of no rain, dear Julie, but lightning is striking and it is raining heavily as I write this. I was told what this gorgeous little flower is, but I didn't write it down. I am sure you will enjoy your mom when she comes to NYC. They aren't with us forever, you know. Another hug for the week.
