Photographer: Gordon Harris  (Karma=274)
Torquay, Devon UK

About: Not new to digital photography, but starting again after a bad affair with a Coolpix 990, which used my money and delivered nothing!
I live on the English Riviera in the UK. A great tourist region but wet and grey as much as any other region of the UK. Virtually no snow in winter so no opportunities there. (well it did snow on Xmas day this year. I fix computers and teach management at a local University.
When the new camera arrives on the scene, I will be planning trips to Europe. Switzerland and Italy are top of the list. Now what camera am I going to get? Clearly, film systems are delivering superb results, but starting from scratch, just how much processing equipment will I need, or where will I get reliable film processing? Will I need a film scanner? If I go digital, I know that I can narrow the kit to image capture only. The rest is already on my computer. What way to go?
