About Monks, prior to entering their their assembly hall, took off their shoes and left them lying on the stairs leading into the hall. By the end of the process the entire stairs were covered in these red slippers.

Very well spotted opportunity. The red shoes stand out against the plain stairs. This is no simple picture as it invites various interpretations. Very nice picture.
