Very attractive excellent presentation of sand’s folding, Jim personally don’t mind if just the sands body the rest sky and clouds it distract me from its beauty. Cheers Harry

Lovely form image Jim. I really like the curvature in the sand. Well seen and captured so masterfully. The blue sky is a perfect compliment for a background to further enhance the white sand. A stunning iamge to view. Your work is outstanding. I always enjoy your images.
Thank you also for your comment on my Still Blue image Jim. For years I have been working on my composition skills and am finally getting a handle on that and now I need to work my exposures as I'm quite technically challenged. I appreciate your input and advice. Thank you.
Cheers - Ann :)

If ten people woukd have taken a picture of this dune, everyone would have taken a different image. You have chosen a good part, a very powerful part of this scene. Great! 7! Best wishes, Gerhard

Pat & Manu... the noise in the sky is likely due to my working with the JPEG and not the RAW file. The original is quite clean in this area. I shot this with a long lens so I felt the blurred background helped display the differance in distance between the dune and the mountains. Otherwise there would be no way of knowing how close the mountains were to the dune. Thanks for your helpful comments and taking the time to view my photo.

Carlheinz... I went on my own. No guided tour. I spent two days there exploring and had a blast. I'm not sure there is a wrong way to see White Sands National Monument.

Jim, I do like it and it is worthy of its rating. But, I noticed the noise in the sky right off. And also I think large DOF would have been a good choice here. I am wondering if the noise is jpg artifacts? Does it appear in the raw or tiff file?
At any rate, the composition is excellent. Makes me want to make the trip to White Sands someday...

Excellent definition in the sand accentuating the natural wind blown sweep effect...my only concern is the "noise" that appears to be in the sky?
Cheers

Amazing feature, the white color of the dune and the blue sky are a very nice combination. Very good even texture of sand and beautiful untouched crest line. I could write more, but to be brief very good job!
