You have a lot of strange little critters down there in Australia.
Looks like a cross between a rabbit and an opossum.
Look on the bright side, if they do go extinct, They only came out at night in the wilds, so no body would miss them. Right?
Only kidding... Only kidding. I'm ducking for cover now :)

Wow Judi how very unusal! What are they being raised for do you know? Is there a purpose as such?? Must be but I didn't get it from your description?? What big ears!!
My family raised mink for many years for the fur. My Mother actually raised her own full length mink coat.
