Hi, Sally! Thanks for commenting. I'm sure there would be ways to pretend the sky was anything other than overcast but as I got drenched half an hour after taking the shot I wasn't inclined to do much about it. There's also this feeling that a 'this is the way it is' shot shouldn't be tampered with, except maybe by a bit of trimming here and there, but maybe that's being really luddite and old-fashioned.

Not quite as exotic as Thailand - but a more familiar sight to me!
Lots of detail in the brick work and slates and realistic colours.
I would like to see a little more detail in the sky - though I guess if it's overcast, - it's overcast!

Hi, Ray! The title was just a reference to the way the Victorians/Edwardians made buildings that would really last. Not idealizing the period, but give credit it where it's due...
