Thankyou Anandaroop for the information, I have been to Kathmandu only once for office work, The view from the airport of the Mountains are fantastic, and then during my short stay we went to Dhulikhel for lunch. What amazing view. Keep clicking, om waiting to see more shots of the Himalayas. Im obsessed with the Himalayas.

Hi Debarshi, this is not the Machapuchare. Machapuchare or Fishtail is part of the Annapurna Range, and has a distinct 'fishtail' appearance. It's one of the most spectacular peaks I have ever seen, although unfortunately I don't have a good shot of it, because whenever I have seen it, it's been blindingly backlit. maybe this year, i'll trek around to the other side:)

The one you see here is Ama Dablam, in the Everest region. It's beautiful in its own right, and is one of the best loved peaks one encounters on the Everest Base Camp trek.

Thanks for your interest, and your kind comments on my page.

Ama Dablam, for sure. This is a better photo than I made while there, even with a heavy, long lens brought all the way to basecamp. It's hard to believe the normal route goes up the face. Great lighting.
