This is an very pretty lake located on the Paiute Indian Reservation about 33 miles N.E. of Reno, Nevada. The lake was named after a pyramid shaped rock formation on its Eastern shore. This is an ancient lake which should actually be a dry lake bed if not for the Truckee River which dumps into it from the West out of the Sierra Mountains. I did a major photography no-no and added some artificial color to this otherwise very natural photo. The sky was very white aswell as the water... I merely tinted it a pleasing shade of blue -- sorry 'bout that....wish the weather/sky would be more cooperative sometimes!
Hmmmmmmm, it doesn't look blue at all in mine. Just kind of a gray-white. I like the subject matter, but would want to wait for low, red light of sunrise or sunset, or a brilliant blue sky or something. BUT, that doesn't always work with traveling unless photography is your major focus (heheh..pun there!) Are you from that area?
Hey and don't worry about "major photogarphy no-no"s. Photographers here sometimes "shore up" photos in Photoshop. Plus, it's YOUR perception that counts.
