Dear Ian, I am glad that the picture means so much for you. I was back from brushing my teeth at nearby river when visualizing this view. Something in the morning light made me realized that somehow I could make the best of it; but using a 35mm digital of course has many limitations, and I wish I could go back and bring a medium format and will meter the right exposure..:) By the way, I've just wake up when reading this, as well..:) Hanggan

Back again. Looks better today, though mostlty see it as a counter to the hole. The clay and bamboo leaves very nice details close up. It interests me because I see a direction I'm hoping to go. I day dream of buying an old medium format tlr (limited but still good at what they do 50 years on)for such work soon. Seen Jurgaitas stuff before he transferred them to pbase? Love to see where I am here with his eye. Sort of poetic pathways, big areas of texture. If I could name it I wouldn't be so fascinated I guess.

An intriguing shot, Hanggan. The composition forces the eye to the right to follow the path. Best regards, Chris

The mist and cloud in the background give the shot a very moody feel, Hanggan! Well done! Dave.

Maybe too hard the contrasts in the upclose areas I don't know, I found it an inviting composition but I blinked at the left half of the frame... I'm probably way wrong and will come back after a sleep. Gosh but that beyond well placed.
