There's so much going on in this picture it's incredible. Beautiful light, stark contrast, and the candle setting in the middle of it all.

Hi Darlene,
I'll say it too... something different from you.
This is a nicely composed photo of something that I assume you hold dearly. Maybe I assume too much, but the mood of the photo makes me think that way. I suppose that's a good thing.

What a coincidence though. My wife and I spent a rainy afternoon at Home Depot picking out blinds, exactly like the ones in your photo. You can imagine the shopping was such a thrill for me ;)

A lovely, simple composition Darlene. Sparsity in colour, rich in shadows and details with the orange candle to set it 'alight' A wonderful idea well executed....Very best wishes to all of you.Ray

Love everything about this Darlene, the subdued color, the contrasting light and shadows are incredible, love the one bit of orange color, nice patterns, love the way the lines of the lamp shade contrast with the lines of the blind, and the varying patterns of light and shade on the chair. Perfect balance created with the patterns on the chair and the strong (floral?)silhouette/shade on the blind. Excellent work...an eye treat, well done..Linda

This is different for you, Darlene! Nice moody shot. I think this would be so cool if you clear everything off the table but the orange candle and cropped it a bit tighter. I love the way the light falls on the chair!

Hi Gayle, Have at it! I don't mind at all....this is our son's apartment, he lost his home in New Orleans during Katrina. This is a small apartment with 20 foot ceilings, cement floor and I just love it! There's so much character in that old building! New Orleans is sad, so much destruction.......but seems like a lot of people there have very high hopes for the future, we'll see, it will be a huge task! My email address is dfboucher@mac.com.
