A lovely trio of mono double portraits. I love this work you do Sheila and it strikes me that in Susie you will find some of those tricky PS solutions. I love the beautiful expressions you have captured on your daughter's pretty little face.Very well done in what were frustrating lighting conditions...Best wishes ..Ray

Thanks Kathy! I will see if I have that capability with Picture It.
We have a rule that we can't buy anything for ourselves from October until Christmas (so that we have ideas as to what to buy for each other for Christmas). So, if I don't get PS for Christmas then I will have to run and get it in January. I didn't know that Costco carried it. Thanks to Susie for letting me in on that!
Have a fun weekend girls!

I used Picture It for quite some time Sheila, but it was before I really got into photography. I just can't remember (or probably just didn't know at the time) if you can draw a selection around a specific portion of your picture. If you can find that capability then you would just go into brightness and contrast (with that area selected) and tweak it. It's pretty simple in PS, and, as Susie said...keep hinting! Kathy

Hi again Sheila, PhotoShop Elements 3 is a really good program...Costco has it for around $80 I think. Version 4 is coming out so maybe you can pick up 3 for a little less? Keep hinting...it's definitely worth it!

I don't have PS, but if either of you know how I can do it with Picture It I'd love to know.

Sheila, I think that this is one of the best things that you have posted so far! It's really good! All three shots are good in themselves, too. Like Susie said, it's not that difficult to lighten a specific area of a shot. One of us could pretty easily give you some tips. Way to go! Kathy

Honestly, I don't mind the dog being a little dark. I love the backlighting here and the landscape only adds to the character of the shots. I adore this as a series. You should print this BIG! :) Your style is wonderful! TFS

Thanks Susie. It's funny that you should mention the PS because as I was posting this I was explaining all of that to Christian. I was telling him: "if only I had PS I could just brighten Oscar without blowing Dakota out...", hint, hint.
I just bought a new lens (that I LOVE) and it's great for capturing moments like this. When I would try shots like this with my old lens I would have to get so close that Dakota would see me and get all stiff. With this longer lens I can shoot without her even knowing and capture these great moments. The new lens is why I haven't upgraded to PS yet. Did you have some old PS stuff?
You should e-mail me and let me know how your classes are going. ccandred@comcast.net
Thanks for the great comments and have a great time in Vegas!

Okay, my two softs spots...kids and dogs! (Especially boxers) Love it Sheila. Yes, he's a little dark...there are easy ways in PS to selectively lighten parts of the photo. Maybe I can pass on some stuff? I really love this collage and their poses/expressions. Well done and put together!
