Talk about generating body heat, brrrr. Nice capture of your bike & including the freezing environment. Just my opinion Gary, I'd backoff a little & pan camera left to reveal more of that side while maintaining a thirds position of bike on right side. Otherwise also like this version, regards.

Hi Irenka! Yes, i actually rode my bike there. In spring (late May to June) the snow would melt on top of about 1½-2 metres of sea ice causing it to look almost like open water, but in fact, it was the best time of year for biking!! Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary
ps, mostly the water was only a few cm deep, in spots maybe up to 20 or 30 cm... not too deep for biking (o;

And a kayaker, too. We aren't just fellow shooters, then! I really like this one, Gary. From the thumbnail I thought you had halted your steed in a rushing spring stream... The bike adds color and life, and certainly a bit of mystery to this beautiful desolation. Footprints into the water would have added even more to the narrative, perhaps? -Tim

Hi Gary, very nice idea! Maybe the title should have read "Just gone for a quick swim!". I enjoyed visiting your portfolio and thanks for your comment today.
All good things, Neil

Quite a different spring shot :) Love the blue tones in this image. Excellent light/snow textures. Biking and kayaking are both great; silent ways of moving, and you see so much more!

Well, I've ridden in many less-than-admirable conditions here in the desert, but they all pale in comparison :-)
Wonderful shot!

I love this picture - the background and all blue colour with the contrasting red and black of the bike is fantastic. The sky is perfect. The way in which the ice is shaped in a sort of semi-circle is really cool. Cycling is a great sport ;) Fabulous shot Gary!
