About STRIFE over the ages...

France's rejection last May (2005)of the EU constitution strikes a further damaging blow to its already waning influence in the bloc, only a week after long-time EU partner Germany was thrown into turmoil.

Despite Schröder's campaigning in Toulouse for French ratification of the EU constitution, the 'no's had it.
Indeed, the French "no" vote and German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder's defeat in a key state election the previous weekend threaten an all-out stall for Europe's already sputtering Franco-German motor.

"What the result means is that the Franco-German axis is in serious trouble.

"let us make no mistake, France's decision inevitably creates a difficult context for the defense of our interests in Europe."

Let Your Children Learn MANDARIN... they may be working for them.

Made of 3 captures:
Rear stairs of Nbr 1 Rond Pont, Paris.
Two of (un?)known SS sculpture in the river that passes through Berlin.

I reconized immediately those sculptures, but I wondered what were they doing on a stair.... a shame you couldn't catch all the three men. They represent the three cardinal point of Berlin: West, Est and North....don't ask me why not the south. They were wanted by Berlitz, the Insurance Company that is the palace in front of them. If you took the pic, probably you were on that "british" bridge, that has nothing to do with Germany...but it's part of the multicultural Berlin.

A good fantasy to put together those elements, as your usual.

I didn't even notice the blur in the stairs for the other elements in the photo. I thought I was in a labyrinth. Didn't know which way was up, down or sideways. Very thought provoking image and very eye catching even at thumbnail size. Great work. Cheers - Ann :)

Great perspective and composition!!
A little bit of sharpness in the stairs would be nice, but we get dizzy anyway. :-)

Well done!!
