Thank you Endre. The Amish would let themselves be killed rather than lift a single finger in self-defence; they eschew violence of any kind. Let me quote an Amish response to this question: "If the result [of violence towards us] is death at the hands of the attacker, so be it; death is not threatening to us as Christians. Hopefully the attacker will have at least had a glimpse of the love of Christ in our nonviolent response".
A weapon of any kind would therefore be anathema in this culture, and I hope my capture did not evoke that response in many people. Kind regards Endre.

For some reason ,- I am a very peaceful guy ,- but,- a 6 shot Colt is missing from this atmosphere. :-)

Great composition with very good colours. Really tells a story and the silhouette of the little boy adds to it very nicely.

Hmmm...looking at your crop a few times. I rather like it Ina. I agree with you about the mechanical stuff over the painterly elements. I'm searching for the image that is in YOUR mind TOO - it's something I strive for in my mind in pics like this.

Hi Ant, I hope you don't mind me doing this. I find the image as beautiful as a painting, with the silver seat and green frame detracting from the beauty of the scene. The boy's silhouette and the yellow-green tobacco leaves form a very strong contrasting image, and I love the way the leaves frame the image at the top. I guess we're back to the question: "is it art, or is it journalism?" - I'm more inclined toward art, so here it is, making abstraction of the mechanical parts :) I think the bits of red are now unfortunately missing, maybe it's not such a good idea but I'll launch it anyway.

Nice shot. The silhouette of a youth fits into the big-wagon-work little-wagon-play story. The hanging leaves have nice colors, and the sun on the leaves still on the wagon help put the story together.
