What a dramatic portrait. I agree with Ozjan, it would be nice to see it in B/W...maybe even more dramatic. (should have read the comments first I guess) I really like the b/w you attached. I don't think it suffers at all from losing the redness in the eyes. Very good. Nice crop too.

Aaaaaaah - size was too big for an attachment. Thank you for comments. Had a look at the link you gave, also had a look at your portfolio - interesting Mervo - and good shots! Even a B/P - well done!!

Aah you beat me to it :)

You could always adjust the contrast and saturation of the colour image a little, it looks a little pale, but with some minor adjustments it would look a whole lot different and the blue eyes would remain :)

There - done it.... It loses some impact with me in B&W - the redness of the eyes and the striking colour blue of the iris is lost....
Thanks for advice.

If you have Photoshop then it's as simple as loading up the image in PS, clicking IMAGE, ADJUSTMENTS, then DESATURATE.

You can adjust the contrast and such, also you can play about with the levels. This will adjust the image to your satisfaction :)

Thank you for your comments - and yes, I have to agree it is a sad portrait. I will try it in Black and White as soon as I can figure out how to do that....
Regards
Shirley

I agree, this is an excellent portrait and quite sad, but I wonder how much more it would benefit from B+W. 7

I can see we are neighbors today in UF. Your picture is next to mine. I like this picture a lot but I have strong feelings that if you try it in B&W, you will have a superb drama. No matter of what I feel I give it 7. :) Cheers Shirley.
