This is a great shot of this section of petals. You have seen and titled the image appropriately. (As most people have noted)
Following your conversation with Gayle, I am amazed that you have not experimented more with the tools in Photoshop. If and when you decide to, the experience will open up a whole new world to you. This can be good and bad. Try not to over-do the photoshop work and make sure that you do not neglect your image taking skills, hoping that Photoshop work will make up for it.

hi, just so ya know...all i did was go to gamma correction which color corrected darker as you can see from darker background, and then tweaked contrast level....i use paintshop pro8,but think photoshop has similar tools...it is just fine tuning when lighting conditions aren't perfect or your settings are off a tad....have fun!

I'll try playin' around with my shots for a while in photoshop before uploadin' them .. my shots are usually straight from the camera but i guess I should give the subject a second thought ...

hi and nice to hear from you again,Ali....apt title for these flame-looking petals...dof and background color work well...if you intended the front petals to be soft,then it is your preference,but in my own opinion,i think comp would be stronger with a bolder contrast level...i'm thinking this was shot under low light conditions...it is still very appealing,just has an overall soft focus look to me....regards,gayle

Great work, I enjoy the colour gradient and the random arrangement of each petal - all contributing to the effect of 'flames' as you have titled it. It reminds me of the warm bonfire I had at my house just yesterday :P

Very good idea aLi! I can almost feel the warmth on my face..the deeply warm tones are very effective.
I think I like how the petal on the bottom left extends out of the picture, it is more interesting that way.
