... but a nice place for tipsy comic figures. I like this series, though (because?) it doesn't show the nice places in n-ville. I rather esteem your photographic eye... lavendu

I'm enjoying this series too. I have a soft spot for Urban decay shots......takes a 'seeing' photographer to spot gems in otherwise nothing places. The shades of sepia you choose set off the mood well. Nicely done Stefan.

Thanks for you comments Dirck. I am thinking of making a sign like this for my office :-)

I like the toning in this, Stefan - it really seems to fit the environment here. Interesting wording on the sign, isn't it? Kind of defensive! :) I quite like the slice of bright sky at the top - again, the harshness seems appropriate. I do think the ground could stand a bit more detail, though.

Thank you Burak - it is the first time I try toning for effect.

Thank Kim, I really appreciate your comment. The sky is the brightest thing going in the photo but I think it helps define the atmosphere (pun *not* intended) of this environment. I also like the symmetry it provides with the ground in framing this dumpy place top and bottom. Anyway, that is how my thinking went.

"This is no dump" (it just plays one on TV!) The signs people put up really crack me up! There is one sign near where I live, attached to a wall, that says "Do not put up any signs." Hmmmm. I like the graffitti on the wall under the sign and the dinginess of the bay door... I find the top of the building a bit of a harsh line that pulls me to the top though... what about cropping just below that line to keep all the interesting bits (sign, door, blob cartoon) on a brick background?
