Thanks arwa. The "negative space" as you put it is an important part of the image IMO. It gives some space around the marmot so it's not boxed in, and probably more importantly it puts its eyes near the upper power points (the intersection of thirds).

Each mammal has its one personality and character and that?s what I love about your wildlife pictures, they are portraits of those animals, they look intelligent natural and at ease in their environment?almost human like! This summer after the 300 mm lens I tried photographing wildlife and its difficult! Its hard to capture the right moment plus the lens is quite heavy!!! After my humble tries I really appreciate your work ? and lee?s? even more! your crisp details and perfectly smooth backgrounds are awesome! Keep up the good work! :)
