About
A few years ago while in an overnight stay in the Imperial Palace Casino with two real good friends from Mississippi, I gained permission from the Harbor Master to shoot the shrimp boats. He was an elderly man that probably lived there all of his life and really could not understand why I would want to take photos of all of this "junk" as he put it. I was so excited to be standing there shooting that I happened to be a little shaken. The shrimp boats were all manned by Vietnamese people and at the time, it seemed that I was a world away. Now as I look at the news, it seems even farther away to me now, but I know that someday I will return to this harbor and find the same excitement that I did a time ago. Good luck to all that need help there!
What a wonderful picture and about. Great colours/tones and detail. OUr thoughts are very much with the people caught up in Katrina and the terrible havoc she is causing. Nice tribute Margaret
Excellent Capture!!! Great shot of a Biloxi Shrimp Boat...This is a graphic reminder of the Infallable Spirit of Biloxi and the entire Gulf-Coast in both good times and bad...The Mississippi Gulf-Coast is where Truth's are now being tested and where the South meets the Sea...
I like how the focus is almost too sharp - like hyper-realism. It lends itself to the chaos and beauty of the netting and masts. It's a beautiful picture and sentiment. Cheers!
