Yes Aernout, let's stop the discussion. Everyone involved has stated their position and probably won't be moved. Lets all just agree to disagree and move on. kysoti

For the record, I don't think there's anything wrong with playing with your photographs in PS. In fact, Erlend Mork, right here on this site, has shown that that too is an artform. To me, this, however, is not an example of that new photography-related, since it has nothing to do with actually CREATING, but is merely the effect of using a filter. Moreover, it didn't do the picture any good... But let's stop this discussion.

Hello Salvador, My daughter directed me to the conversation going on regarding this image. I am in complete agreement with you and the others that regard photography as an art form. We each see things so differently, and I am go glad! Personally, I LOVE what you have done with this image! To be able to take a photo and make it into a work of art is what I love about digital photograghy! My best, Kathy

It is funny how you completely missed my point. Thank you for making me laugh!
There is in my humble opinion quite a big difference between creating an image (imagining it, seeing it, thinking about composition, shooting it, rethinking it, having another go or two) and just using a pre-set trick. Or are you really one of those people who regard tracing the same as drawing from scratch?
Nevermind, though. (That last line in your comment is very true indeed. Too bad you don't see you have yourself become just one of those people by posting it :))

Good work Salvador. Do not be discouraged or upset by someone elses ignorant comments. Can we not use a modern camera that someone else has invented? Or do we have to build our own peep hole camera. Can we not use modern film that someone else has thought of ? Or do we have to mix our own silver halide crystals and spread them on our own home made glass that we have blown ourselves. There is nothing wrong with what you do as long as you are honest about the process, which you are. I myself experiment with ps and I wish I were as good as you. I thought that that's what this site is for, to experiment, share, critique, make friends with people who share the same interests from around the world. If some of these people think that they are pure and above the rest of us then they are Pharisees. KYSOTI

Likewise, I am uninterested in this kind of photography. If you don't want critique, don't post. If you want flattery alone, talk to your friends. I prefer honesty. You have shot some tremendous skies, and I like those a lot (as I posted, I think). This however... see above.

If you like this so much, why then make a picture? Take up painting! I mean, what honour is there in using someone else's efforts (the PS programmers) and presenting them as yours. I think the picture might not even have been that bad without the PS-ing. To me, this is not what photography is about.

Gracias Gustavo. Te cuento lo mismo que le dije a Denis: Thanks, Denis. My intention was to haze deliberatly the photo, in order to create a new image of special vagueness, in the style of he Impresionist painters more than one century ago. So, the lack of definiton was part of my purpose. Best regards, Salvador
