Thanks Rob... It is just beautiful. My grandfather and his son (my uncle) were in the Marines so things like this that symbolize how heroic they are really touch my heart. THanks again, its such a beautiful shot. :)

Wow! What a great compliment!!!!! I really appreciate that! This memorial is right before you cross over into DC on the Roosevelt Bridge. It is really called the "Marine Corps War Memorial" but is commonly known as the "Iwo Jima Memorial". It is over 30ft tall and is exact representation of the famous picture captured in WWII on the Island of Iwo Jima of the Marines saving the falling flag before it hit the ground. :)

George...what would I do with it, or should I say what would that do for me?

I think that if this was shot with film, you'd need a red filter. I don't have any idea how you can get that effect with PS.

Beautiful b/w Rob. Great detail You should enter this in...is it "Famous Places" project? Nice puffy sky for a b/g. Nice! Might be fun to have the flag in color or a little desat? (Or maybe just corny!) Fun to play with an image like this.
