Hi Matt, thank you for your assistance! I still have to read the manual for my Finepix. It's rather new to me. I used macro and did not change the resolution. I learned since this photo, that my cat's eyes don't work well with direct flash also. I cropped around the bag and resized at under 800 for upload. Here is the only original I have left of this capture, if you'd like to have a look. Thank you again. I need to read my book! These cameras are great little computers!
Very cute shot of your cat. If you don't mind me saying, quite a few of you pictures look over sharpened or grainy. Can I ask what settings you are using and if there is any post processing of the images. Firstly, the Finepix F700 has sharpening options built in which can be rather harsh, can I suggest you try shooting at the maximum resolution and turn the sharpening to soft. Secondly, how do you resize the images to display on here, it could be that your loosing some quality in the compression.
