About	I was drawn to this stall by the smell of roasting chestnuts. You can just detect the smoke as a sort of veiling of the colours to the upper right of the picture. The old guy who ran it poked his head out, took one look at me poised to take his photo, and withdrew his head immediately like a tortoise. I hate to think what his lungs must look like!

Chris, it's very hard to avoid teaching English in Japan. So many want so desperately to learn... I even do my bit at English Bible Class every Sunday morning. I hope their daughter enjoyed Japan, and that they do... It's unpleasantly hot right now, but OK if you can dress for it. I haven't worn a tie for weeks...

the great thing in your street images is I can see how busy the atmosphere is ... all the signs and colors. It is fascinating
