I like to see these types of shots, revealing a little of the character and feel of living there. It looks like backpacks are ubiquitous there. Color is everywhere.

Oh boy, Tim. I bet you'd just LOVE our rush hour! (Reminds me, I must capture some photos of that... floods of black heads on stairs and platforms, people having to PUSHING into the trains to get the doors closed.) Great fun!

It is a funny contrast living where you are and where I live here in Canada, where there are no people comparatively. The stark difference is so enjoyable to perceive here on this wonderful medium of the internet

Lea, I share your disquiet over THAT thread. But your comment is most welcome... Look at my comments if you want to find the kind I welcome! My love is for wide angles and my instinct is to try to get everything in. Cropping goes a bit against the grain. But I can see you are right, here. White skies are a real problem in Japan; I've sometimes converted to B&W just because they're less obvious then.

A great street scene, it really shows the atmosphere. I love the sense of activity and the colorful, cluttered look of the street. I'd be tempted to crop off the top of the photo to just above the highest banner. The white sky detracts and by cropping out the top it would heighten the feeling of a crowded street. Please don't be offended...I'm almost afraid to give an honest opinion given one of the current threads in the forum!
