Oh yes it would make a great quilt block, you're right about the beads - the peacock ones dark blue with a fancy shine - yes I'm getting a vision of it, girl it's gorgous... Hey how come you're not sending my snapshots of your progress on the flower quilt? I am having trouble with my email filter so keep an open mind I wouldn't ignor you I just might not get them.

Thanks Ellen - I was about 8 feet away and shooting on the general purpose auto mode with the macro feature engaged (or whatever you call it) on the lens itself. Sure did help eliminate camera shake - that lens is heavy. I thought the center looked like some bugle beads that had been sewn on very closely together. Would make a great applique with a bugle bead embelishment in the center. LOL Jan

LOL Mary - I just learned about "softness" My focus was suppose to be on the whole flower, but if you look closely on the bottom left, the petals are not as sharp and detailed as the rest of the flower. I think that is what I am seeing. Your photos are great. You probably never noticed something like that because you didn't have something like that in your shots. Go back and take a look. I am sure tho that we are our own worst critics. Jan

Your, and other's, notes about such things as it's 'a little soft on the bottom' make me wonder about my pictures. Often, I don't see the noise, or softness, or really understand DOF and a lot of other things. Makes me wonder what I might be missing when looking at mine before uploading. I'm sure glad I have a camera that seems to be good as some of my shots have turned out well. Someday, it will be from more knowhow than luck. Mary

Thanks for the comment - On closer inspection, I can see that the focus is a little soft on the bottom part of the flower. Guess I forgot that the tripod allows you to adjust things to where you want them - really need to get that stronger diaoptameter (or whatever the view piece adjuster gadget is called). Been trying to keep my glasses on and it just doesn't work well.
