hi mark, you wouldn't agree that the photo is "lonely" or that your "talent is off the charts" ?

Hi Mark

Thanks for those generous comments. I am getting the hang of the Holga and I must admit that I am enjoying the freedom it offers and the results when they work blow me away.

I feel like a born again photographer.

Hi Mark;

apart from learning this camera's mechanical functionings and quirks, it's more of a creative progression rather than a learning process. Shooting freely I guess is the approach that works for most, and this type of simple camera is conducive to that. This image ranks pretty high in my book. I love the tonal range, especially the extreme highs and lows. It's very sophisticated in its arrangement.

Beautiful. Perfect light situation for this subject. Both concrete and almost abstract.

Wonderful image - this is the ultimate holga shot - the simple composition and the dark edges draw the viewer into the image - a perfect image of the dream that was childhood - Kev

Hi Manu

Thanks for your comments it is always good to hear from you.
The tones in the hospital series are basically duplicated layers with blending modes usually multiply. Along with layer masks to dodge and burn.

What's your email I will send you a before and after sample to show you the difference.

Well you're managing to creat some wonderful atmosphere with this new "toy" Mark...great feeling and the added green tone gives it more depth.

How are you getting your tones, especially the ones from the hospital series? Is it graduated layers or something different?

Cheers mate

Manu
