Had to laugh when i read the about because i always look at cheap cameras at thrift stores, but haven't made a purchase yet because i recently got a holga and don't want to get too scattered which easily happens when i have too many toys..LOL..anyway, this turned out nicely and to my eye it looks like it has 2 tones going on...looks like a holga in many ways...nice reflections and like the water texture...i get a cold and very alone feeling from this image the longer i look at this...regards,gayle Looked for your email addy but didn't see one,so here is mine...kissthesky22@yahoo.com...had some more questions and didn't want to use comment route if ok with you?

Hey Carlheinz
Thanks for your comments mate. The colours in the photo I think come from the B&W film being a C41 process as well as the quick scan that I did of it. I like it though.
Cheers Mark

Hi Linda
Thanks for your words. I too thought it had a lonley feel to it as well. The vignetting in this image is a result of the cheap lens on the camera.
The vignetting that I have used in previous images such as my Tokanui sries is all done in photoshop. The process is as follows.
Make a new layer. On that layer I use the eliptical marquee tool. Clicking and dragging diagonally across the image to make a selection I then invert the selection so the outer edge of the image is selected.
I then add a curves adjustment layer dragging down to make the selection darker. This will leave a sharp defined edge so you need to add a Gaussian blur to the layer mask to soften the edge. The result is a nice vignette.
With the 20D if you shoot in raw the raw conversion app in photoshop will also let add a vignette. I don't know how well you know photoshop but if you have problems understanding the procedure send me an email and I will give you a more detailed walkthrough.
Mark :-)

I like that a lot, as you might imagine. Not sure how you get this colors out of a B&W. As always every camera and especially toy cams have to used for certain conditions/subject/etc. That's the art and challange IMHO. Excellent! CB
