There's a lot to like about this landscape; the way the mountains sweep down from left to right, the trees which make the opposite sweep from the tallest on the right and on round to those going off to the left. The lines of light and shadow in the field that seem to radiate out from the red tree group at the end of the field. All in all an excellent shot. Regards,Tony

Tim - I dont get to comment on as many images as I would like but this one of yours is tremendous! However, as a true curmudgeon in training I have one minor nit that you could fix in PS. The grass at the treeline is too light. It pulls my eye away from the wonderfull red tree. I tried to mute the brightness of the brightest patches and it worked wonders. Still in all its great! John B. - who thinks you do better in the mountains than at the coast (or who likes mountains more than coasts)

Great lighting, Tim! I like the way the light points straight to the tree, and the way it and the rest of the treeline contrasts with the dark background of the mountains in shadow. Dave.

Hi Roger, i am glad you messaged me when you did. I am traveling right now and only get on line as the situation allows. I just happened to be on line when you sent me your comment. Hey, thanks for the vote of approval....i sure love taking photos.

Glad you yielded to that temptation, Tim--sharing this with us, I mean. The light is lovely, and the play of light and shadow is beautiful, highlighting the grasses against the shadowed areas and the line of trees against the shadowy mountains. The delicate tracery of that tree on the right also adds a nice touch. I've been too busy to do much commenting recently, but I do love your photos and always see them. (You being a friend, and all...)

Hi Carsten, The reason I didn't allow more space near the top for the tree is that it is not the focus. So by cropping the image close to the top of it, the mountaintop and red tree become more prominent, which is where I wanted the eye to go.

This is excuisite, colors and tones are strong but natural, superb detail, compositionwise my only wish would be slightly more space for the tree @ the top (not a major issue). Great shot, congrats !

I love the lines that lead your eye right into the picture. The colors are so vivid and sharp. What a wonderful place to take the D70 and kit lens! I have this camera and lens too, and am inspired when I see such beautiful pictures with the same equipment I have. Joanna
