I really like the composition with the branches coming from the 2 bottom corners emphasizing the pretty bird.

Oh good - he did have a tail. It was very accomodating of him to perch on that particular branch at that particular time as it makes for a super composition and your eyes move through the picture. The DOF is perfect and really makes the bird the feature of this shot. Detail in the background might have overpowered the bird. That new lens appears to being doing a great job - oops, or is it the user? Mom
