Even without the colour, you've captured the many different colour tones of the rose. I would usually have thought a desatutated rose to be saddish, but this is actually quite cheerful.

nice floral.. like the tones and lighting... wonder if it could use a little bit more contrast but still a great shot.. I agree that the b&w version is better than the color version...nicely seen and captured... good work

Marian I too like colour especially in flowers, however this has a quite interesting tonal quality, a mixture of greys that make it look almost like a silk flower.
