carlos...can't wait to see these photos! i'll probably be frustrated when you break them out and they're way better than my own stuff.

? this ?Mollusk? is finely produced and has much wit to spare.

While overseas I photographed, or I think I managed (or at least approximated) a couple of quintessential Todd Miller images. Pictures I took and know were inspired by your work, or more precisely pictures which ?before? being snapped, ?informed? the photographer ? ?if T. Miller were here he could be interested in taking the shot!?? or ?this locale has a T. Miller (unusual vision) stamp about it??? that kind of thing.
In the future you will be the judge when I get going and pull the ?T. Miller? snaps out of one or the other of 3 DVD?s filled with the RAW stuff I accumulated over 2 months.

I appreciate the warm welcome Todd!

Cheers

Top find, Todd. Excellent composition, you captured it very well.

I would have wasted the chance and captured just the detail. You did a great job.

yes Thilo, I'm with you...the grass at first seemed like a bad choice and i went back and forth with cropping it out. i only wish the grass wasn't so highlighted.

Hi Todd,

hehe, nice finding, my friend. I was kind of reluctant regarding the grass, but in the end I like it. Adds to the scene.

good work.

I have to agree with Kevin about leaving the very top part of the grass...who would ever think that would "work", but it does..! Appealing minimalist composition..:)

This is a great photo! The word on the door combined with the vent to the left (which reminds me of a shell) fit perfectly with your title. I really like the abstract feel as well, nicely captured Todd!

Todd,
So very often you make me think ... the educational part of this image and title, is that I always thought of mollusks as solely comprised of invertebrates with hard shells. So I had to go to M-W.com and discover that my definition was too limiting ... that indeed squid are also mollusks.
I like the large square vent that is echoed by the small square window on the door.
Also, Kevin is so right about the fringe of grass = good call.
Mark

...greetings from the other end of America...I am the squid --- is that you or what - I love it - perfect geometry and the bonus of the "squid" - I like that you left that fringe of grass .. good one - K
