Hi Laura! Many thanks for your comment. This is one of my favourite CD shots but it did not seem to generate much enthusiasm on UF. I just used a simple desk lamp, but these colours only appeared when holding the lamp at a very specific angle, more or less directly above the CD. It's a reproduceable effect that I've managed with different lamps subsequently.
If you would like more info just let me know - it's just a bit too late tonight to go into too much detail!

Hi John,
It's beautiful! What caused this refraction of the light? I've never seen the segments separate so cleanly and uniformly in a reflection of a CD.

Many thanks for your comments, Ciprian. It's funny, but these CD images really are very simple - just shine a light at a CD! A small movement of the light or the CD, or a different type of light, can completly change the colours or the effect. This one was taken with an ordinary 60W desk lamp. What I find most difficult is, having spotted a good effect by eye, getting the camera into the same position... AJ
