Laurie these are beautiful...I saw this thumbnail yesterday and thought it was a spider, I can't look at spiders...hehehehe...I know it's silly but also traumatic for me...anyway I'm glad I checked again, I saw the title and I opened it...wonderful work!!! I love it..these are very different looking..I really like that background and the composition of the repeating orchids...very well done...Looks like you got a lot of wonderful pictures on your trip...I'd frame this one...beautifully done Laurie....:):)Linda

As Anunay pointed out this really does look like a spider! I love the layering of flowers receeding into the background - it gives a very real feeling of depth. Excellent use of DOF to add to the depth. It would have been so easy to either blur the background completely or choose to retain sharpness all the way to the back of the image, but neither would have been as effective as the setting you have chosen. Excellent work Laurie!

I like orchids as they tend to resemble animals which is a little weird. Like the DOF used here but I can't help feeling that the colors need a bit of "zing"....they look a little flat? Maybe some PS work could revive the vibrant colors a little more?
Just an idea and many thanks for your comments, as usual.
