Another good macro shot Alison... may be needed some more depth but I like the golden tones a lot.
Great work my friend, keep it up,
Khaled.

A square format would probably be really nice, I'll try it. Alison

Very good macro, agree that available light works best. NIce effect of the shallow DOF with the background structures. What about a square format ?

Carsten

New lens, congrats!!...and hope you enjoy it my dear...well the first thing I have to say is thank God it's not a spider, hehehe...and what an interesting bug..those antennae are amazing, you captured some really good detail, and I like the background a lot, really puts his size in perspective, and I like the metallic colors...well done....:):)Linda

Than's Dirck, I agree that the flash often makes to much of a shine on the subject. Alison

This is a really cool macro, Alison! I really like the lighting in this, and have to say that I disagree with Armando about using the flash - I think it would make the image too harsh and you'd lose the wonderful browns and greens of the beetle's back. The yellow field that he's sitting on is wonderful, and the it's softness makes it look like he's floating above it... Beautiful!
